Google is introducing RSS enabled search real soon
It was over a year ago that I last spent energy argueing the value of RSS enabled search here. Over at Yahoo it has been on offer for quite a while. Matt McGee writing on the searchengineland blog has the story. Google Confirms RSS For Web Search Results
Just in case you dont get the signifigance of RSS Search or continuous search, let me provide two examples.
- If you are looking for information on somebody you can Google that. But if you want to see if anything new comes up, you'll need to repeat that search on a regular basis. But not anymore. Soon if you create a search, you can grab an RSS feed and when something new appears it will show up in the RSS feed. You could even call it lazy search. It's really cool.
- Now a nasty scenario, You are in the building trade and want to keep an eye onone competitor, Google search them, create a feed and keep up with their gains or failures :) Just don't get too frustrated right!
