Android -v- LiMo -v- Funambol
On Wednesday this week Don Reisinger had a post up on CNET entitled 'What happened to Android-based phones?' casting doubt on how successful Android will be next year. Problem 'as always' is Google's introversion, which is a total pain when you are a large corporation! Even Microsoft has more swagger... but I digress. Usually no news is good news... but not in this case, unless it has to be kept under the radar.
Over at ZDNet Dana Blankenhorn takes a wider look. She compares Android's 'going it alone' with LiMo's more corporate backing (boring?). Then she explains about Funambol which is a sourceforge like software repository.
I am a bit concerned about the further splintering within the Linux mobile camp. I am though very curious at how mobile Linux takes off and does much better than Desktop Linux.
